It is intended for the ELEKTRA SelfTec 16 ready2heat cable to be installed directly on the gutters, valves, or pipelines that are to be protected from snow, ice and frost. The SelfTec 16 ready2heat heating cable can also be installed on plastic goods. The ELEKTRA SelfTec®16 ready2heat selfregulating cable is easy to remove and maintains its flexibility in cold weather, in contrast to other heating cables. The exterior coating produced using a unique method has been approved for use in drinking water applications.

You will no longer have to worry about frozen water supply lines or water valves in your home’s unheated sections or exterior after installing the ELEKTRA SelfTec®16 ready2heat electric heating cable.

When needed, the ELEKTRA SelfTec®16 ready2heat heating cable is operational. You no longer have to worry about unforeseen weather or variations in air temperature. The basic requirement is satisfied when the system automatically modifies the cable temperature: neither the high temperature of the heating cable nor the low air temperature may harm the protected object.

Installation of Electric Heating Cable On Water Pipes

ELEKTRA Self-Regulating Heating Cable Technology

Self-Ragulating-Heating-Cables-ELEKTRA-02

The capacity of heating cables to adjust their power output (heat) in response to temperature changes in their surroundings is known as self-regulation. The relationship between the temperature of the cable and the pipeline (water supply) is shown in the diagram. Following system activation, the heating cable “warms up” and increases power delivery while the pipe is still cold (blue) (red). The cable “cools down” and uses less power while the pipe is warmer.
