SAMM Expands European Footprint with Acquisition of abatec GmbH
Istanbul, Turkey – 30 December 2025 — SAMM, a leading manufacturer of fiber-optic connectivity products, has successfully completed the acquisition of an 80% equity stake in abatec GmbH, headquartered in Billerbeck, Germany, with an option to acquire the remaining shares at a later stage, subject to agreed terms.
Founded in 1995, abatec specializes in passive fiber-optic connectivity solutions and serves a blue-chip customer base including leading fiber-optic connectivity players, industrial connectivity companies, and medical device manufacturers. The company focuses on the design and assembly of tailored cabling systems for demanding applications and is recognized for its strong engineering capabilities, premium product quality and long-standing customer relationships.
The transaction marks a strategic milestone for SAMM as it continues to expand its footprint in the European fiber-optic connectivity market.
Following the acquisition, abatec will continue to operate under its existing brand and management structure. Mr. Paul Berg, the current CEO and existing shareholder of abatec, will continue to lead the company, ensuring continuity for customers, employees, and business partners.
The partnership aims to accelerate abatec’s expansion in its core markets, further enhance its customized product offering, and support long-term, sustainable growth. In this context, SAMM will support abatec’s next phase of development through its strong in-house R&D capabilities, operational expertise, and access to a broader international network.
