This will be the year in which everything is connected. Along with social networks linking us all up, we are now firmly in the age of the internet of things: objects with sensors or that talk to each other through peripheries of all types that control just about every aspect of our lives and our environment.
When technology now allows us to fit a fully functioning computer into something the size of an SD card, we can reasonably assume that the entry barriers to connecting previously unconnected objects will diminish significantly.
Quantifying our activity was just the first step. The early generation of so-called wearables (smartwatches, activity monitors, etc.) has now been joined by devices that can assess our health, how fast and properly we have run, how we’re sleeping, brushing our teeth, or if we are standing properly. To these can be added a veritable constellation of devices to connect our homes, gauging their temperature and CO2 levels and how comfortable we are, not to mention the galaxy of developments that are changing the way we drive, and so on and so forth…
You can call all this what you will. But it is no longer the internet of things, and is instead the internet of everything. This has nothing to do with internet-connected fridges, which never materialized, but everything to do with myriad devices of all types produced by companies of all shapes and sizes.
The market and take-up levels will have the final word, but basically, 2015 will be the year when, as far as is possible, everything is connected and SAMM Teknoloji provide tools and equipments for those who want to create any sort of smart devices.
